All art levels welcome!
Hi, I’m Samantha, a Therapeutic Art Facilitator. I’m here to guide you and cheer you on in your healing journey! Art is a fantastic tool to process emotions and discover new things about yourself.
In the Art for Healing program, you will learn practical tools to manage stress after experiencing difficult life experiences. You will grow in confidence by strengthening your emotional resilience.
All materials are provided, including but not limited to: oil pastels, colored pencils, paints, collage materials, colored paper and more. Willingness to try new ways of processing will open up new neural pathways and stimulate new perspectives!
Some Art for Healing topics include: how to validate and process fear, anger, shame and overwhelm. We will also address your way of functioning in the world, self-image, boundaries within relationships, and your personal worldview.
There will be guidance on how to alter and redirect emotions, and how to vision-cast for the future.
Does this resonate with you? I’m here to support you on your journey toward resilience and hope!
Another participant shared: "This experience allowed me to see that we have more power over feelings than we sometimes realize, and they are often fluid and moving, much like the paint was in this exercise." -E, Georgetown, TX
Art for Healing classes beautifully complement traditional talk therapy. Since art making activates emotion, memory and the imagination, these art classes highlight therapeutic topics at different angles that open new ways of thinking. While art making typically activates the right brain, journaling and speaking activate the left brain. This bi-lateral stimulation is linked to the healing of trauma within the brain.
These classes are effective for both individual work with a facilitator as well as within a group environment. The weekly group class has the added healing benefit of growing and maintaining relationships with fellow participants. Additionally, seeing others' artwork and hearing their explanations multiplies participants' ideas for personal applications of the material.
It is my complete joy to facilitate these classes, providing a space to contemplate, process and grow. I look forward to meeting you! -Samantha

Former Victim Advocate turned Artist
After studying psychology, Samantha supported survivors of trauma within various crisis centers in Seattle, WA. She witnessed that art-making was therapeutic to both survivors & to herself & found a lot of neuroscience to back it up.
Samantha hosts thoughtful, therapeutic arts classes that build emotional resilience after hardship and allow processing of emotions for further healing in a supportive, respectful environment. Activities include a variety of mindfulness, painting, creative writing, collage and more.
